Description of the course
Beginner’s course I & II has been designed to learn introductory Spanish. The primary objective of this course is to offer students the opportunity to acquire communication skills in what we call “survival Spanish”. Functions include: asking/giving directions, using appropriate greetings, introductions, and courtesy expressions as well as the ability to communicate in different situations such as visiting a bank, restaurant, or other public places. Furthermore students should be able to give their personal information, and talk about personal preferences and activities in growing details. Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to narrate a routine in the present tense, using a more ample vocabulary, and narrate some activities in the past and in the future in a simple way.
- Specific Objectives:
During the course the student will be prepared to:

04.Talk about a daily routine.
05.Talk about the past.
06.Communicate in different situations such as in a hotel, in a store, at the airport, etc.

08.Make the difference between current events and actions and usual events and actions.
09.Express the continuity of a situation or action.
10.Place situations in time.
11.Give orders and advices.
12.Express that something or someone stands out from the group.

01.Reflexive verbs in present tense.
02.Some irregular verbs in present tense.
03.Expressions of time: antes de and después de + infinitive.
04.Uses of the preposition de.
05.Regular verbs – simple past tense.
06.Irregular verbs – simple past tense.
07.Uses of the preposition en.
08.Absolute superlative with –ísim and the relative superlative.
09.Phrases used to place situations in the past.
10.Gerund and the present.
11.Forms used to express continuity (seguir and continuar + gerund).
12.Direct object pronouns.
13.Indirect object pronouns.
14.Forms used to express place in time.
15.Imperative with usted and ustedes.
16.Adverbs ending in –mente.
17.The preposition para to indicate purpose (with persons and infinitives).
18.Adverbs of place.
